late taking of GRE
Hi all,
I registered to take my GRE on the 17th November. However, I just realise that Stanford, which is one of the grad school that I'm gonna apply to has the deadline of 2nd December. Several other schools have the deadlines of 8th Dec. So could anyone tell me approximately how long it takes from the date I take the test till the day the grad school receives my score? I'm not sure whether ETS will inform my score to the schools online or through P.O. But I plan to wait until I get my score on the test date, and type in my application forms before submitting them. Doing that way the schools will have my Q and V scores and will only need to wait for the official scores from ETS. Do you guys think it will help? Thanks a lot in advance! green_bear |

In most instances, your unofficial score you get on test date should be ok for the application process. You may need to contact the graduate school to see if your unofficial score by the deadline is ok. Most Earthlings I've talked to have said it was.

Just for your reference, I took my test on Oct 3rd and I received my copy of the report on Oct 19th.
It may be a little rush for your application deadline but I think there is usually some flexibility on the receipt of the GRE scores. Ask your admissions coordinator and see if they allow any slightly late arrival of your scores. |
