I wouldnt rush too much into learning vocabulary. Try to glance over 100 or so words a day. I would also make a schedule or have a random schedule. For Instance, I'll wake up tommorow and decide I want to work on sentence completion problems, then the next maybe the same. Work this schedule into your learning vocab schedule.

The ETS books are good because the GRE is developed by ETS. when you are ready to take a practice test, the ets website also has free adaptive practice tests that you can download.
try to find a few hours each week when you can study in a quiet place. Do some practice questions to see what you need to work on, and then start focusing on that a little more.

I don't understand why newbies always start new thread without searching other similar threads on this forum. And I am surprised why members are giving answers to such type of common questions which encounters every now and then.

Rightly said manish..It is understandable that a person is new to the GRE. But it is irritating to believe that a person has to declare his entry by asking a question for the 100th time, for which a 1000 replies have been posted in this site already.
I too am a new comer, and I learnt a lot by just prowling around, and I do look forward to contribute something emaningful when I've learnt enough. As of now, I ask all new comers to just shut up and watch what's going on around, instead of expecting to be pampered on arrival. |

Navam,
With all due respect, I wish to add that my message was not directed at you specifically, as you just happen to be a protoype of what others did. My frustration was actually against those who make a loud entry by posting the most ancient question (How to prepare for GRE) in the most inappropriate thread, where a serious discussion would be going on already. When they are capable of locating the right thread in porn sites, it is irritating that they can't do it in Tm, making their entry in the wrong place. So, please don't mistake my angst. |
