GRE test takers are advised to spend more time on first 10-15 questions of any section. Can anyone suggest me approximately how much time should I spend on first few questions,20 minutes for first 15 or anything like that?

It is a general rule that one needs to score well in the first 10 questions to push the graph upwards. But it only has to be understood relatively. Mostly, candidates don't have time for the last 5 questions where we can only guess blindly and rapidly to complete the test. This rapid guess work should not be done in the first 10 questions. This is my interpretation of the statement. It does not mean that you have to keep pondering over the first half of the question paper.
Time allocation for each question varies. If your 4th Q itself is an reading comprehension, you can't afford to follow such rigid rules of time distribution. |
