Can you prepare for the GRE in 4 Days?

    Hi All,

I just decided I will try to go to graduate school this fall instead of next fall. In order to get my scores in time, I will need to take the GRE on Tuesday. Has anyone successfully prepared for the GRE in this amount of time? Thanks!

Well, not really - unless you've consistently scored in the higher percentiles for every section. If you haven't, I doubt that 3-4 days will make any significant difference to your score.

Do you mean to start classes this fall, or meet this fall's application deadlines, to start in Fall 2008? You can't go this fall if you didn't apply last fall.

Either way, taking the GRE with no prep and then rushing your application is a sure way to get rejected by every school you apply to. When you apply on a whim, it's pretty obvious in the quality of your app.

Well, no preparation for the GRE was not the best idea. V=450 Q=560. I actually did 100 points better on the powerprep test I took right before the actual test.

Festivus: I'm applying for an online master's. I guess my recommendations, grades and work experience will have to make up for the GRE

You can study maths quite easily in four days, but only if you have a maths/science background. And I'm not joking here.

What do you think is the most difficult math concept posed on the test, Tienshinhan?
