An experiment has three possible outcomes, l, J, and K. The probabilities of the outcomes are 0.25, 0.35, and 0.40, respectively. If the experiment is to be performed twice and the successive outcomes are independent, what is the probability that K will not be an outcome either time?
(A) 0.36
(B) 0.40
(C) 0.60
(D) 0.64
(E) 0.80

(A) 231

(B)231/π
(C) 924

(E) 924/π
If each shaded circular region in the figure above has radius 5, then the total area of the shaded regions is what fraction of the area of the square region? the lenght of the side of the square is 30
(A) π/12
(B)π/36
(C) π/60

hi yvram,
Umm, i think these q's belong at the GRE Math forum! I guess you're new and that's why you've posted them here!
I'm sure you'll get responses if you post them at the right forum.
Goodluck!
