Can someone tell me what the average score on the GRE is and how the scores relate to percentages. I know it changes daily, but there has to a baseline somewhere.

I think that depends on the course u want to pursue...Powerprep gives some statistical data about the average scores according to the various majors and courses in its CD..Which course r u looking for.I shall try to find out...

I am looking at English programs, and the person I spoke to said they want you to hit above 60% of the people who took the test (I believe it was 60%). I was just curious what score I need to aim for.

Ave of population 1000

Ave of PhD's .... 600V and 600Q

Average GRE score is between 1000 and 1100..
Most of the test takers fall in this category.
But check out the university requirements you wanna go for before making a target!
