Certainly time factor plays the rule but not always . GRE doesnt test your innate vocab or maths skills .it tests your basic facts with excepional logic . necessarily u dont have to be shakespeare in english and Ramanujam in maths to get fuller or 1500 , requires only street smart thinking . By the minimum 200 hours of dedicated preparation can take u to acme . GRE is a game . practice the game until u get adapted . Let ur game starts . All the best .

I agree that the GRE quantitative section does test logical reasoning ability more than math skill, but I'm not so sure about the verbal portion. Even if you can recognize relationships between words easily, you need to at least improve your vocabulary a little in order to do well because the GRE vocab words are so difficult.

Even if u know all the words vocab tests ur logic only . inconceivable to know all words , way of picking out the right one with 2 out of 5 rule is the proficient one . To get adept in vocab , Barrons word list is enough and fast reading of RC . know the roots and prefixs and suffixs of word group , that will take you ease in precarious situation . with a assiduous effort and cool head can take u to fuller .

Would 3 hours a day suffice in studying if the projected test date would be in 2 months (jul 08)? Of course, I don't work on the weekends. That would give me more time to study.
Do you guys think this is enough time to study? Please advise. Thanks. |

I am a bit frustrated because I can achieve great grades in graduate school while working full time. But with my last two attempt, it did not show in the GRE scores. Although, I have to admit that my second score increased to 280 points after two months. I believe that I am capable of getting the score I need. Therefore, getting 1000+ is doable like what you've said, it should be a piece of cake. ![]() Thanks again. |
