Importance of first 15 questions in the GRE

Even though I am delighted with my verbal score ,I would again like to
reiterate the importance of getting the first 15 questions right for
both verbal and Quant. When you get your ETS score card ETS has an
online service which allows you to check which questions you got right
and wrong and how much time you spent on them.

I had got 740 in verbal and I just got 3 questions wrong ,one of which
was the 3rd question and the other two were towards the end..So
you can now imagine how just getting 3 questions wrong can lower your
verbal score especially in the first 10 or 15.So make an effort to get
as many right as possible.

Quant is much more forgiving,I got like 2 wrong in the first 15 and 6
overall but I still got 780

So If possible try and maximize the number of correct questions in the
first 15 as that will greatly boost your score

Hope this helps

Good luck

Mervin

Why is it that you can get so many wrong in Quant and still score high? Maybe that's why a perfect 800 is only 94th percentile? Maybe the ETS needs to recalibrate the scores to make the top scores harder to obtain.

I wont mind getting an 800 at the 94th percentile ... I love the system the way it is
