Got my results today...its a 8!

Got my result today...wouldn't say am too happy because its a very simple test...couldn't get simpler...haven't really visited this forum before but am now because if anybody needs help, would be glad to help..heres the breakup:

Listening 9
Speaking 8.5
Reading 8
Writing 7

The last section pulled me down..and guess what? its my strong point...damn...so am a tad disappointed but never mind...there are other days! BTW, i wrote the academic test...all the best to prospective takers and the ones waiting for their results!!

the reading section is the toughest, isn't it? well, my story is quite interesting...i barely prepared for the IELTS as i think its simple...however, reality struck me hard a week prior to the test...was getting 36-37 questions correct in the reading section...suddenly, it dropped to 30-31...i couldn't understand what was happening and that too with a week remaining...i realized that I had peaked and underestimated the reading section...one strategy that I did develop at that point was avoiding the yes/no/true/false questions while attempting a passage and moving on to them once i answered all the questions in that passage..the logic behind the strategy was simple enough..get an understanding of the passage and then attempting the yes/no questions...directly attempting the yes/no questions can be challenging...the test that I attempted had a very simple passage up front and was followed by a very tough passage and then a passage that was relatively simpler compared to the second passage..so you can try the strategy that I have suggested..let me know if you want to know something specific.
