Hi,
First of all, I suggest you to see www.Ieicielts.com , it is a website that has so many good comments. Secondly You should stop practicing the practice test. THis is what I was told. Instead Improve your grammar and reading. There is a book ( Reading and thinking in English), I got it in Amazon, and also any grammar book like oxford practice grammar. Once you improve your grammar you will be fine to write or answer reading questions. Read bbc news in English. don't hesitate to ask me any other question Simin |

How did you practise writing and speaking, did u have a schecule??? How long did you work for this resulst??? And at the real exam did you read reading passages or just scam-skim them? The time is an issue for me and I couldn't manage to use it properly, so I guess I should practise IELTS tests to learn how to use time. And at the real exam how did you answer writing sections??? I mean did you made a structure and how long it took you to make one? Sometimes it can be longer than 5 minutes for me at each and im panicking and go without structure at the end It becomes a disaster. I need soo much advise about writing section, I'll get my exam at August and I still couldn't manage to make my writing better. So, I would be so glad if you give me further details about your studies.

hi senmai. i think according to your essay u will easily get band 7 at total at august so nothing to fear for you but for me it will be hard.
karan for reading everyone says that you should read more and more. i couldnt able to find any other tip and after reading, write a conclusion or speak about it. and a writing improving tip i just found today Then, after you begin to "see" all that in the texts you read, apply these techniques to your own writing. After reading a text that you like, write a paragraph (or a summary) about it, following these tips: 1. Introduction: it should seize and hold the reader's attention; it should also indicate what the text is about and state briefly what will be discussed throughout; 2. Main body: each paragraph should develop one of the ideas (or topics), mentioned in the introduction; 3. Structure of paragraphs: each paragraph should have an introduction (= the topic sentence), a main body (at least two sentences) and a conclusion (one or two sentences); 4. Transition between paragraphs: each paragraph must be linked to the next one by means of (A) a connective, such as "furthermore", "although", "nevertheless", "in addition", etc. (B) a key-word, intrinsically related to the topic: for example, in one paragraph you may talk about "knowing how to play the piano" and in the next, "knowing how to speak a foreign language" (both are acquired skills); or (C) an idea: for example, in one paragraph, you may describe the "pros" and, in the next one, the "cons"; 5. Coherence, that is, a logical order of ideas; in other words, each idea must naturally lead to the next; 6. Conclusion: it should be compared to the introduction; in other words, did the author do what (s)he said (s)he would? If not, what is missing? After you find out, fill in the blanks; 7. Use of words (since it's academic writing, use formal language), grammar (stick to grammatical rules) and spelling (when in doubt, use a dictionary). |

Hi everybody,
To answer your questins, backup and Karan, I have to say that the main key in reading is not to get panic. Don't waste your time to read the text. Just focus on title, then go quickly to the questions and skimm fast to find the section you need to find the answer. There is aseries of book called REading and Thinking in English , If you can find it , it is very helpful. there i another book that is called target band 7 . It has very good tips. I have it I can send it for you. bye |
