Without capital punishment (the death penalty) our lives are less secure and crimes of violence increase. Capital punishment is essential to control violence in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion.
In the present age the volume of violence and crime has increased significantly. People are more aware of their security when on the road or event at home. On this note the enforcement of capital punishment has sparked a heated debate most people believe that it is fundamental to control the advancing violence in the society today.
The purpose of any kind of punishment is to prevent a person from performing unethical and wrongful acts. On one hand capital punishment is useful to demonstrate the magnitude of the crime committed. This is likely to cause guilt on the wrongdoer and in effect make a person realize their harmful and unlawful acts. On the other hand, capital punishment is advantageous to impress people and to make them fear the law. Crime committees need to know that the law is a frontier. if crossed their life is likely to be lost.
Capital punishment plays a pivotal role in helping to maintain a distance between crimes such as robbery and murder. It is crucial that lawmakers have to establish precisely the context in which capital punishment can be pronounced. That is why some misfits are benefited from penalty reductions. Furthermore a person killing in self-defense will be exempted from punishment as he cannot be compared to a serial killer.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that capital punishment is essential to prevent violence and make our lives more secure. It is the only way to control crime in the society. Moreover capital punishment will have a deterring effect on society as people will reconsider committing an unlawful act knowing that they will be subject to a death penalty.

This is not bad. The ideas are clear and mistakes relatively few. The arugument is all pro capital punishment, though, and a counter argument may benefit to provide balance.
The score is a bit tricky. 6.0 - 6.5 if you are doing the test in an English-speaking country, and over 7.0 in places like China and India is my best guess.
