It is possible, yes, as everyone says. But you need:I think the IELTS is a fair and accurate exam so feel confident - it won't try to trick you. And remember examiners want you to do well!
- a very good level of language
- a good attitude
- good focus and understanding of what you need to do in the exam

actually it is not that hard...you can try IELTS preparation book set by Cambridge.... it has four levels....you can get all four or go through one or two...each book has four tests...
good luck

Dear friends,
You have scored very well.
help me in speaking part 3.
If i know nothing about the topic which is going to be discussed between me and the examinar than in that case what should i do.
tell me and from which book or website you had teach your self .
mail me at student_one_2@yahoo.com
thanks

That's a very good answer right there. Your level of the English language should be (very) good to get an overall 8. Your speaking should be fluent with correct grammer. If you don't have too much of a vocabulary base, at least the fluency of your speech will save you in the speaking part. Also speak with confidence to show that you're in command of the language.
As I said in my thread, I got an 8.5 (8.5, 9, 7.5, 8.5) in the academic IELTS and I think the easiest parts to score high are listening and reading and those can be practised with the Cambridge tests. And again: Total concentration is the key!
