IELTS on July 7th: Overall 8.5

    I just got my scores and I'm very pleased with an overall 8.5 (8.5, 9, 7.5, 8.5).
I only prepared listening and reading with the cambridge tests. I needed at least an overall 8 for the Fisher College of Business (Ohio State University).

I really enjoyed that it's not computer based. It's a lot better to concentrate on a piece of paper than on a screen. Up yours TOEFL IBT!!!!

I live in Germany and I'm not a native speaker (I'm German)

Well, I can't really give any tips. As I said I didn't practise writing and speaking. I've been to the US a couple of times for vacation so that helped my speaking a lot.
As for listening and reading, I used the Cambridge tests and always scored at least 36 out of 40.

It took me only about 40 minutes to finish the reading part and I had enough time left to review my answers which helped a lot.

Sorry that I can't really give any tips, but the test itself is not that hard at all (which is ok, cause it should show your english abilities, nothing more, nothing less).

As I said, I only used the cambridge tests and only listening and reading. You can get them e.g. via Amazon.

Nope, sorry, I don't have any free links for the IELTS. As I said, Cambridge tests is all I used.
