A basic query (please respond urgently)

    Hi!

I'm going to take IELTS shortly. I need to know when a test taker is uncertain about the possible answer, can s/he skip answering it? Is there any negative impact on the score if one skips answering some questions? Or does each question carry the same weight, i.e. 'omitting' is same as 'wrong answer'?

    Thank you.

I know this is late, but if you miss the question you get "0" mark, if you skip the question you get "0" mark, so if you don't know the answer, just "guess" if you guess right you get "1" mark.

how abt partial answers Tseprep? I meant instead of "9" , if i answer "9pm" by mistake (as "pm" was already printed in questionnaire) , will it fetch me some mark at all? Do they have only 0 and 1 or partial marks scenario? Thanks

So if your answer is "a house" and you answered "house" you should get 1/2 mark. For the situation you mentioned, it is possible that you may get 1/2 mark but just the same get "0". I would go with the 1/2 mark, but I am not the one who is grading the answers. So best way is not to make such mistake.
