Can we use our own words to answer the question ?

Hi Guys,

Please Help me ! I am sitting for IELTS on end of this month 31,May. I have been practicing very hard for 3 months and almost ready for taking the exam except some doubts which are distracting me from my further preparation.

Please Suggest me with the following ( Academic Reading) :

1. Can we use some our own words to answer the questions or we should only use all the words from the passage. ?

2. The words we use to answer the question, Should it be copied exactly as these are written in the Passage or we are required to change its form to fit it in the question grammatically. ?

3. Lastly, If we are required to use the words from the passage only, Is it necessary that all the words ( Two or Three ) should be picked from one place in the passage. ?

For ex : If we are asked to answer the question in THREE words , Can we pick one word from the first line of the paragraph and rest from the second line of the same paragraph?


Please Help me with my Doubts as no one is able to suggest me.
I will be highly thankful to all of you.

I know this is late for your May testing, but you should use the exact words from the reading and I think it would be very rare to have answer for one word in one line and another in a different line, unless you have to give 2 different answers.
