hello everyone! i'm new to this forum, but not to GMAT. i have written GMAT twice last year scoring 610 (v27 q48) and then 670(v34 q48). 610 was a result on an extended 5-month, no-plan preparation..
Then i joined Kaplan classroom program in Virginia which got me a little disciplined. in retrospect, i think i freaked out a lil in my second attempt, especially in the verbal section and couple of RCs to be specific after which it was a partial black-out till the end of the exam. In the quant, i was getting above 90 percentile in all my practice tests, but again i wasted some valuable time on few of the harder questions on the test day. So, again, in hindsight, test day stress has been one of the biggest factors that pushed me down 10 to 30 notches on that second attempt.
I'm planning to give my last attempt on GMAT by october this year because i feel i have a good background and experience and a <90% score would only going to reduce my chances in top 20 schools. If things go as per plan, i would apply for 2013 fall sessions.
some questions that i like to ask to the community here:
1. Does a third GMAT score a good thing to have? (assuming ofcorse i get a better one)
2. What is the best way to cope with the test-day stress, and
3. any other suggestions or advices considering my plans and past scores?
Best,
Lav.
