690 (Q50, V32) - Poor Verbal Score

I just took GMAT today and got a very poor verbal score.

I did pretty well in QA section by just reading the questions carefully and then cross-verifying before moving to the next question. QA questions were little tough at the start. These questions took extra time to crack so at the end of test i had to finish a lots of questions in one minute per question. But most of the questions at the end were very easy so somehow i could manage it very well. I was scoring 51 in all my practice tests in last week so 50 is on lower end.

In verbal section, i found RCs very easy. Few CRs were quite tricky and to be frank i could not solve them and had to guess. SC is my weakest section. I think that's the section, which brought my score down. Also i was little relaxed at the start of the section and at the end though i had 1.5 mins for last 3 questions, I was not able to concentrate. This might also have affected my verbal score. I was socring 35-38 in all my practice tests so 32 is a very poor score.

Any suggestions on how to improve verbal score in my next attempt?

That a great quant score my friend!!! Another correct attempt on verbal, and u were at 700!!!
No qualms though, as crossing this barrier and way ahead seems practical taking into account ur Gprep verbal scores.

2 questions that i request be answered:
A] Did it happen so that u guessed more than a couple among ur verbal questions for the Gprep test(s) and got them all correct?
B] Of what genre were ur first 6, or around, quant questions? I mean, were they too much varied with one another? such as may be a mix starting with inequalities, percentages, number theory and geometry etc?

Fiver!

Answer to question 1: I am not good at guessing answers in verbal section. In all my practice test, my guess were wrong.

Answer to question 2: I don't remember what genre first few quant questions were from? I am not very sure but if i remember it correctly, then those questions were from algebra.

I also remember that most of the times similar questions were bundled together. I was thinking that i am not doing well and that is the reason CAT is giving me next question is from same topic .

Seriously quite unusual to get questions from the same genre..I always thought GMAT is a mix and match of all types
