Just finished my gmat on april 16th

Hi,

I got a score of 680 in gmat. Q-45 V-38

I made the worst two blunders of gmat.. In Quant Section I left last 3 questions unanswered. THis has a major penalty it seems. I was so upset after math section that i did not realize i had exceeded my break by 5 min before starting verbal section. THis was the second major blunder. I had taken gmat last year without much preparation and had got 640. THis time i was very well prepared and almost solved all questions well until i committed the stupidest mistake in quant section.

I had got 730,760 in gmat prep. Now i dont know if i should apply with this score or take gmat again sometime next month. Please guide me regarding this.

Is the 680 in the second attempt equal to 720 in the third attempt? I am so confused and really really depressed. Inspite of doing all I could to prepare i was so stupid on the exam day. Please help me in deciding the best thing to do now..

Its not a bad score dude, you can get more than 750 next time. Read this info... Manhattan GMAT Blog » Blog Archive » How many times can you take the GMAT? it would answer your question..

680 is a damn good score. It might be enough to get in if the school mean is around 700 and you have enough Work Experience and good undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts. The GMAT is not the be all and end all of an application. Most admission departments look at the big picture.

On the other hand, since I'm sure you really love taking this test, you will probably improve if you choose to take it again.

Good luck in your endeavours.

Depends on in which application pool you are 680 can be considered a good or bad score. It seems like, u r quite strong in Verbal, what happened in Quant? How would you describe questions compared to GMATPREP?

well you have answere your question, that you had made a stupid mistake, and you lost your ability to stay calm and concentrate. only preparing well theoritically is not enough. u shud give another try, but before that work on keeping yourself calm amd your ind in place even if u had to leave say more that you left and increase the speed and concentration level as they are more equally imp. and for sure do not leave any q unanswered.
