GMAT Timer
I had a few GMAT Clock questions, and I figured here would be the best place to ask since most of you are done...lucky!
I hear a lot of people writing they started with X minutes already gone, how does this happen? And how can it be avoided? Does the clock run during directions? If no, is there is time amount that you have before it does start or takes you to the test? For example, if you wanted to relax for a second can you do so on the directions screen with no penalty? For the AWA does the timer start for directions? How about the prompt? Are you given a minute to read it or does it pop up and time starts? Lastly, can you lag between essays for a break or does the second start when you submit your first? |

You have 10 minutes between each section to do whatever you want. You must be careful about that because after the 10 minutes the time of the section start no matter what happen in the world...
You also have some minutes to read the directions when the test start. Yes, you can use the time of the directions to relax, as a matter of fact, I recommend you to do that, specially in the middle of the test. The same for AWA, some minutes for directions and then the 30 min. This 30 min. includes the time you have to read the prompt. Use GMATPREP to see the time. After 1st. AWA you will have a minute to read the directions again and then the 2nd. AWA starts. There are no breaks between each AWA. |
