I think I'm done with Gmat. Scored 700(Q47, V39). I had scored 660(Q47,V34) about a month back. Not a great improvement but I'm happy to have crossed 80% in Verbal(87%) and almost 80% (79%) in math. Just one of the hurdles crossed towards an MBA. Although I have not been an active participant in the forum, I have been motivated by the debriefs of people on here. Your debriefs have been really helpful and motivating.
Not that I am an expert but if anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Only thing I would say is persistent practice on your weak areas will definitely give the results you want. Good luck to everyone! |

Hi gmatroad2,
I found verbal to be ok i.e. not excruciatingly difficult nor easy. I thought my skills in SC had improved from my last attempt at GMAT and that made me more confident on SC, and I felt I could "see" the right answers more easily. The difficulty at least to me in Verbal is that unlike Math where you can pretty much know if you know the answer or not, or you make a silly mistake, in verbal it's difficult to guess how you're doing. The only way to know is to see how well you do in the verbal section on GmatPrep(make sure you do not remember the right answers in Verbal on GmatPrep when you review them. I did not review my verbal answers on GmatPrep, just checked how many SCs,CRs,RCs were wrong, and how I improve with every new attempt at GmatPrep). I don't know which area is weaker for you in verbal but for SC I would suggest you get the Manhattan SC guide, read through it and then go through the SCs in OG 10 at least twice. It will probably take you 40 minutes to go solve 30 SC problems daily, but probably 150 minutes(5 minutes per question to go through the explanations and understand why they are incorrect). Combined with the rules you learnt from Manhattan SC,after two times going through OG SC you will begin to see a pattern in those answers and should definitely help you with SC. For critical reasoning and reading comprehension again I think practice should help. I believe OG10 provides enough practice material, however it takes a lot of time to go through the answer explanations once you solve say 30 problems daily. Hope this helps! |

Banke bihari.....that was just an awesome score.....
Please advise more on the verbal part of the exam esp for critical reasoning and reading comprehension and also discuss little more on the DS part of the quantitative section of the exam. Cheers! Regards, fgmat |
