690 (q 49, V 34)
Hi ALL,
Scored 690 (Verbal = 68 %tile). Oh lee ..... English was a killer. I got a bold faced question. 2/4 RCs were BIG. CRs were incomprehensible for me. Looks like I goofed up in CRs. Experts please advise. I need some much needed advice for English. BTW, my target school is INSEAD. I know that overall package carries more weight than GMAT score but other things being equal what do you guys think is it better to appear again for GMAT and then apply? Any kind of advice would be really appreciated. |

I exhausted GPREP duing early stages of my preps (like 2 months back) and I scored:
GPREP1 (49Q, 30V): 640 GPREP2 (49Q, 29V): 630 Quant in the Real exam was smooth. Very much like GPREP. Verbal was hard. SCs were like GPREP. CRs/RCs were harder then GPREP. |

gimmenergy,
This is what is written on the Insead Admissions site : While we do not have a minimum GMAT score required for admission, we advise candidates to aim for a score at or above the 70th-75th percentile for both the quantitative and verbal sections of the test. Please keep in mind, however, that the GMAT is just one of several admission criteria. A high score does not guarantee admission, and a below average score does not eliminate a candidate. So look at the rest of your application and make a judgement what is best for you. FYI, I have a friend who has horrible undergrad. He did very well in his career after graduation and got his MBA from London Business school. He had a Gmat of 680. He also got into Columbia and couple of other top Bschools. Hope this helps. |

Banke_Bihari,
In my case the main worry is the disparity b/w my Verbal and Quant score. It is of 15 points. Also my %ile for verbal is lower than 70. Otherwise 690 is not that a bad score for me. Can you please also tell me what was the break up of the score that your friend got? |
