No need.
It depends more on the way you show in your statement of purpose, essay.

Anyways, here is my debrief:

Quantitative:

Materials:
1) OG 11, 12
2) Manhattan GMAT quant books

Even though I am an engineer, somehow, I could not get the timing right. Same happened in the actual test. I ran out of time for the last 2-3 questions and maybe that brought my score down. I found the actual quant to be harder than Gprep. Still, I think Gprep is the best way to learn the different quant types.

Verbal:

Materials:
1)Manhattan SC guide
2) OG 11, 12
3) GMAT verbal review

1) IMO, you don't need anything else other than these books. If you do the OG and manhattan SC at least 2 times (reading in detail, including answer explanations), you will get a good hang of the types of questions.
2) For reading comprehension and critical reasoning, I tried to translate the passage to my mother tongue. This helps in understanding what the passage is about. Once you practice this, you will find these questions easier to handle.

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope I don't have to retake the test for the quant score.

Thanks to all the people who contribute to this forum. Hats off to you all ..

Hi Vagabond123

First Congrads on u r AWESOME score

Retake GMAT ,R u kidding...If I were you I would be in Cloud 9,10 and 11 (But then it is just my opinion)

I am finding it really hard to believe it is possible only using the OGs

I want to know which manhattan SC book you used ,The latest one or the older version.

For SC did you refer with OG 10 or 11

Best of luck for your Apps

Thanks
Krishna

Thanks for all the good wishes guys ..

Krishna, I used Manhattan SC 3rd edition. This was written for OG 11. Now I think they have a 4th edition written for OG 12. One difference is the list of questions at the end for each topic. These will refer to OG 12 in the latest edition. I have not read the latest Manhattan SC so not sure of any other differences. Also note that the GMAC Verbal supplement is equally important. And, OG 12 has a lot of bold faced critical reasoning questions which appear frequently on the real exam.

For my SC preparation, I read a chapter in Manhattan SC, and then did the exercises and questions from OG (and not the verbal supplement) corresponding to that topic. After finsihing all the chapters, I did OG again, trying to find errors in ALL the answer choices. Reading the answer explanations in OG helps a lot. After this, I did the verbal supplement, timing myself. Once this was done, I did a few questions every day until the test. The idea is to get to a point where as you read a question, you will identify similar questions you have done in the past, and look for similar answers ..

Hope this helps. All the best for your test ..
