folks,
On second thoughts,i have decided to retake the exam and start preparing for verbal from scratch. For the very basics of verbal. i feel may be its because i dint prepare in the right direction. For SC,i had done manhattan sc and OG 10,11.Do u guys think i should read a grammar book to get hold of the basics? i mean a wren n martin or something....because i have got a scaled score of 30(mistakenly mentioned as 20 earlier).but how does it matter...20 0r 30. Just suggest guys i want to take it from the foundation. |

Hey Dude, chin up!
I too got a 570 in my first attempt, while my prep scores ranged from 680-720. Dun worry the performance in the real thing depends on various factors other than thy competency. After the first attempt, i gave myself one complete month of recluse and self-prep and managed a 670 (Q49, V31), appiled for the ISB R2 cycle last year, got an i/v call and a subsequent reject. One of my feedback point was to improve my GMAT score, thanx to my low academic grades. Like me there are several others who are with u and together by sharing our best practises we shall nail the GMAT. One more thing, since your maths score is fantastic, thy verbal might sure have started with questions in the 750+ range, hence it will be a good idea to discern thy weak areas in the verbal section, especially tough questions in the 750+ range. This usually happens to we native speakers that since our math performance is usually extraordinary and bipolar to our verbal performance, the high math scaled scores may prove to be a bane, if our verbal skills are unable to sustain the same. And practise tests may not have given u the real verbal picture as they have a relatively lower proportion of 750+ level questions. Let's all work together and i'm sure the next time around 750 it will be. Amen! |

Hey KrazyGMAT take it easy my friend. Each and eveyone in this forum would have come accross such a disaster when he/she gave their first gmat. I can understand your state of mind. Relax for a week and concentrate only on verbal. All the best.
