750 !!! Q-48,V-45
Finally a 700+ score... I had to wait a "LONG" time for it.
Every time when I used to see some one posting their score of 700+ , I used to think that my turn will come as well... But, In my first two attempts I score 550 on both. Its been a hard 10 months of effort. Working is S/w firm never helps when at time you have to work in nigh shift. So, finally today, I have scored 750 .... Following is the debrief... About the Test today: Well, I didn't carry any food items,energy drinks,bananas or chocolates.My test was from 9:00 am and since I was visiting the center for third- I had no concern as how to reach there. Reached center by 8am, so I had plenty of time. A school was nearby and about to begin, so I watched the crowd... There were some pretty hot girls so that cheered me up and a thought came across that even if I don't do well .. I still have a new inspiration !!! Nevertheless, AWA went fine... I just spent 15-20 mins this time for preparing ... Last time I got 5.5 so I'm hoping to get atleast 5.5 again.. Maths ===== During my preparation with Priceton CAT exams ( it has an option where in you can see your score and determine if you answered correctly or not) and with GMATPrep, I found that key for a 700+ is to get your 1st 21 q's right.. no matter what. So by he time I completed my 21st Question, clocked showed 16 minutes. I had 16 questions and 16 minutes.. and I started to get question with lengthy calculations ( Time and Work with multiple variables and some trivial DS)..I started making guesses. doing half calculations... and completed teh section with 15 seconds remaining.... As 2nd half Maths was bit tough in terms of time constraint, but as i was sure of 99-100% accuracy in first 21 q's I was very confident.. Break ======= Its of 8 mins only .. earlier it was 10 mins Verbal ======= Here comes my biggest enemy. Again, I observed something udring my preparations. It will always start will SC and if you answer it correct another SC. Then a critical reasoning and another critical reasoning if you get it correct. So if you see your first reading comprehension after 4th question, you can be assured that your 1st 4 are right. In Verbal, the scores dips very quickly in first 21. It starst from 28 and if you get 1st wrong it goes to 25 straight away. If you get your 1st 4 wring you are at 20. So pay all the attention to first 5 in verbal. Overall, I found Verbal bit different, not because its not my scoring area.But in SC: there were couple of questions based on ";" and "-" Testing both these concepts simultaneoulsy. Found some SC's where elimiation was not giving desired result. On one way or other all 5 options were wrong and "answer that sucks the least" wasn't there. reading comprehension: Well I hate reading comprehension but made a commitment to go through this pain. critical reasoning: Eventhough, I have used powerscore critical reasoning bible, still found couple of answer choice too hard to chose.Imagine you have to judge the hottest hollywood babe between Megan Fox and Saslma Hyeak.... Fixed, Confused.. So was I GMAT critical reasoning questions.... Prepration Material ============== Everything on Net... Mostly everything thats around... Kaplan, Princeton, Powerscore, 800score and other websites.... I purchased a book from lcoal author for Quant aptitude ... That reaaly helps for saving time. I would recommend GMATPrep s/w along with princeton and 800 score.. You need to prepare yourself for long 4 hour duration. Thanks to ============ Well , 1st person I would to thank is BearnBull....
