hi venkat.. I am sorry that you didn't score per your expectations.. I see many people who have scored high last year and got terrible score this time.. there could be many reason but I definately agree that exam has gone tough - may be because of theory that you mentioned above.. Don't care that much about it.. I scored 650 last month (first time) and going to appear again coming month but I am mentally prepared for poor scores.. GMAT is very unpredictable.. I already started looking for the schools that I can get in with 650 and my 5+ work ex profile.. I spoke with few frnds in Europe and they said Manchester and HEC Paris can accept this score.. You can try there as well.. I know that a good MBA college can give you a head start in your future job but you can still beat people with a MBA from normal college (top50)... I did my college from Jaipur and that isn't a great college but I know many people at my work place who are in top engineering college in India and I believe I have overpassed most of them.. Many of them who joined with me are still team leads and I am senior project lead.. This example is just to suggest you that good MBA schools won't guarantee you success in your career.. It is ultimately you and wasting another year in the hope of getting into top5 colleges may not be of that much worth.. You can also try in Boston in USA.. It might not be that great college but it has excellent placement record..
Bye and take care..

Just an FYI - I applied SP jain dubai yesterday with 650.. 650 is their lowest score but I am hoping that they will call me for interview.. It seems like they didn;t get that many applications that they thought of..

Thanks abishek for your kind words!!!!. Now i feel somewhat relaxed. And what you said is absolutely right, where one study doesn't matter, to be frank even i am not from good college, but i am in a good position like you. As you said, i have decided to search for good colleges in UK, Singapore and rest of the world where they accept 650 score. Meanwhile i cannot accept what i have secured yesterday. I am going to keep preparing for GMAT simultaneously, though not full time like before(like a hermit) and may give an another try just for my satisfaction.

All the best for your exams and your application process, and who knows we can even meet in the same college :-)

M scared after seeing this discussion :-( This is really unfair if we get low scores just because of a fight between GMAC and GRE. Why should students suffer in this fight?

you need not worry much ritesh . Even if it is to be believed that we get a low score just beacuse of a fight between GMAC and GRE - still there are guys who score well on GMAT ? how does the GMAT then decide that to whom will it reward marks above 700 and to whom it will not ?There are guys who got 720 in their first attempt and then still gave a second try and got 760. If the GMAC has the intention of letting your score less then it would not have allowed someone to score 760 in their second attempt .

GMAC is neither biased and neither it has to settle score against some one . so stay relaxed and give your best shot without bothering much about what is written in these forum . The only thing you should keep in mind is to score maximum questions correctly and while doing so you should not fall too behind on the clock.
