The OG11 and OG12 are similar but not same.It is all about the 20-40 Questions that they have put in each section that make the difference.

So, if you think you can- give it one last shot and kick some butt!!

All the best!!
We know that even one question makes a difference in GMAT... Thanks dude !! I will look out my options.

Hello everybody
I read abhishek messages and would like to ask him some questions.
I'm in fact planning to take the GMAT test in december. I'd like to have some information about the way the test is scored ( I read somewhere that the first five questions are the key to have a big score). Concerning the OG that you talked, about I'd like to know if the 0G 10 could not make my business. Thanks and I am also looking for advice

Hi KKJL,

No one exactly knows how the GMAT algo works..but few things we know are that it is adaptive- it adjusts to the way you are performing, with that logic, the score are not comparative.. 2 people with the same mathematics and verbal score can get 2 different overall scores.

I suggest you go to GMAC/mba.com website and read more.

As far as the second question- it is a very controversial topic. Some testing/preparatory companies say initial questions are important and some say they are not.

My Take

There are roughly 40 question for the software to check your level and it keeps checking your upper and lower limit during the test. So to say the initial question are deciding is completely wrong.

Yes, it is good to start on a strong note as it sets the pace of the exam...it's like saying you have to reach your destination and if you get on the 1st train you are sure you would get there comfortably, however, if you miss the 1st train, does not mean you would NOT reach your destination, you would have to work that tad much harder to cover the lost ground/opportunity.

And as far as preparation is concerned OG -10 is a very comprehensive and it should serve your purpose. But i strongly suggest that you go over OG12 or 11, as it would prepare you for questions that are not in OG10 but asked in the exam.

Hope i was able to answer your questions

All the best!!

Any time dude..

OG are enough for graspsing the concepts and understanding the kind of questions are going to come..My friends did not even complete the OG and got a 740...so it is very relative..

I am person who needs to practice a lot to get confidence in cracking the questions...so it depends to person to person...

There is no harm in practicing more questions

I think anyone who can do the OG well..should be prepared for the exam..but the question is "how well is that preparation " that decides the score..
