570 (48 25)---shock shock shock shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the exam got 570...i am still under shock.....I don't know what happened in verbal.........i am just shocke....i was doing pretty well in verbal......i dont know what happen in exam....

i followed the standard material.....

OG10,11,12
GMATprep
Manhattan GMAT books
kaplan premier
kaplan 800

Please advise guys...Please help me in verbal....i am completely in shock.......shock shock shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can realize your agony. I too have the same feeling as you have. Take it easy. Prepare yourself for better score. I think you can have a good score. I am trying to enhance my verbal. Read some difficult materials.
Currently I am reading the following:
1. Wikipedia: Take different articles and read them as it your daily routine.
2. History.org: Read articles from this site.
3. All the LSAT reading comprehension's. These will help to stick to the bitter reading.

I think there are something wrong in the test, now a days. We have already seen many test takers are getting worse scores. May be GMAT is getting tougher day by day.

Not to be antagonistic, but I just have to mention that I highly recommend against reading Wikipedia as a means by which to improve your verbal skills. Wikipedia contains, as would be expected by any publication written by the public, many grammatical errors and reading it a lot can actually hurt your verbal skills. I love the site, though.

If you want to read encyclopedia entries, Encarta is free and has some good, professionally written articles. That is, at least until it terminates at the end of this month

I second your opinion on this. I gave GMAT last year (640 with very little prep, no OG, no Manhattan and no mock exams) and this year (650 with OG 11 and 12, Kaplan books and what not).
The exam seems to have gone up a few nothces with the kind of questions they have started giving.

PS: My nightmare was Verbal when on the 4th question, I got a reading comprehension and on 14th question in verbal when I got a 12 line BoldFace critical reasoning and on 27th when I got a critical reasoning which had like 5 options each having 3-4 lines. I had to scroll down to see option (E).

I also got a 580. got a mere 27 on verbal. went thru OG11,12, Manhattan, Kaplan. But still bombed the verbal. Am having an experience of 3yrs in TCS. What you suggest I should write the exam again or apply with the same scores.
