Hi all,
I'm Spanish, but I'm living in Dublin. One of the reasons why I came to live far from my family and friends is because I wanted to improve my English to study an MBA in USA. ![]() Today I have made a very important step in my plan: I did the GMAT. My score in this first (and last, I think) attempt is 740 (49 in the quantitative part and 41 in the verbal one). ![]() Although I have never posted before in this forum, it has been one of the main sources of information and support for my preparation. I would like to thank TestMagic all the help that this forum provided to me. ![]() Cheers. -------- Maybe someday I will tell you what I did in a pool full of mud 15 minutes before the exam. ![]() |

Thanks a lot.
Actually, I did a GMATPrep test before the real one. My score was 740 and the dificulty level was the same as in the real exam, so I think it is and accurate source of information to evaluate your performance. Nevertheless, I believe that Kaplan and Paper Tests are better tools to prepare the GMAT. The first is harder and the last ones give you less time to answer every question. I had no problem with the level of the quantitative questions, but with the time. It was not easy, but after doing many Kaplan tests I am ready for every math challenge. There was 1 triangles question (I had to use rules as "1-2-sqr(3)" and "1-1-sqr(2)" to solve it), a couple of permitations questions and another pair of statistical question. They are not hard if you know the tricks to solve them. The final 6-7 question of the quantitative section were really hard. I had very few time and most of them was DS questions. The problem was that they were not the typical DS questions. They were like "is X less than Y?" and the data provided was like "A is greater than B". Therefore, I had to calculate as in every PS question in order to determine ranges. The verbal part was strange. I was not sure about the right answer in SC questions. Sometimes I had doubts between 2 answers in critical reasoning questions because both were reasonable. And reading comprehension was easy until the fourth text. This final text was long and wordy, and I did not know the meaning of many words. However, I consider that reading comprehension was easy on average. I had time problems in both sections. Actually, I choose a coupe of answers but did not read the question at the end of both sections. However, it seems that it did not harm my score. ![]() |

I spent 3-4 months.
Fiscal year closing in my company is in May, so I began tu study in June. My plan was to take the exam in July, but I though I was not well prepared. I took hollidays in August and studied again during September. I woke up at 6:00 am every morning and studiend for 1 hour. In the evening, I studied 1-2 more hours (I slept for 4-6 hours a day). During the last mongh, I did test exams every Saturday morning. |
