Do let us know how you progress in your application and get in touch.... maybe we'll meet one day on campus hehehe

Abhishek,

I understand your concern...verbal pulled your score down.

I read my question again and realized that it dint come out well...
What I intended to ask was... What were the kind of questions that you got? Inequalities, Abs value, Number theory etc... How was DS?
Also how was quant difficulty compared to GMATprep?

Naveen.

Luck is with you now, my friend! I've been looking at the similar schools. I'm thinking I will apply for a couple of top 20 schools, and a few 20-50 schools, then a couple of schools that I stand great chances. One of the disadvantages for us is that we've missed Round 1, so we can only apply for Round 2 for most of the schools since Round 3 is only for domestic students in many cases. That means we will have to send out all the applications at once. But I want to make sure that at least I will enroll somewhere next year!

Many of the top schools have higher GMAT average now than previous years. For example, Stern's average is now 714 compared to 700 before; Columbia's average is now 717 compared to 700 before. I think Columbia even posted their sectional averages - Q47 and V41. I know it's discouraging to see the V average, but that's the bloody reality. Besides the GMAT, IT background is not welcomed. From what I have seen so far, < 5% of the students enrolled in the top programs have IT/Science background. But don't let the stats discourage you. Go for your dreams cuz that's what I will do too! Like the GMAC guy Dave Wilson said, "Be realistic but bold!" (read this article on ft.com: FT.com / Business education - Ask the Experts)

I agree that we don't have much time and I also want to get in at least some colleges. It is disappointing to see that average has been increased.. I was expecting it to go down GMAT being more harder but there could be many Earthlings who gave exams in last five years and applying now because of recession.. I would have done the same.. thanks for the article.. It was helpful.. Stay in touch.. we can help each other a lot in apps.. bye n take care..

Where did you get more recent gmat average? I looked around and all could find is class profile of last year..

Congrats man. Thanks for the debrief, your quant score is really phenomenal. What would you say is the best material you have come across to for one not as mathematically advanced as you to work toward that point?
