750 (Q51, V39). Interesting that Q51=98%, not 99%!
Hi all!
Took yesterday the actual GMAT after 4 months of studying (workdays in the evenings+one weekend, made allmost al pratice tests and went through all major books - OG12, OG verbal, princeton, princeton verbal, powerscore critical reasoning, powerscore SC, Kaplan, Kaplan 800, Manhattan SC, Manhattan reading comprehension, Manhattan Math books)! Don't be surprised by a number of prep materials - each books is usually being skimmed in 3-4 days. 750 98% (percentile) Q51 98% V39 87% How it can be that Q51 is 98%? Thus, it is possible to get score more than 51? It's not important for me, but nevertheless very interesting! Do you hear that somebody get more than 51 on one of the parts? |

wonderful score congrts.
wot i have been seeing recently lot of guys are getting 50-51 in Quant so i guess 98% is ok.. propably u could have got one or 2 more correct and still got 51 even then and then percentile would have gone up to 99% |

I got a 6 on the AWA and it stated that was the 90th percentile. I think it just reports the lower end of the range (for instance, 2 out of every 100 people get a 51, not just 1, so you'd be tied with that other person and they report 98% instead of 99%; in my case, 10% of the test-takers get a full score on the AWA, so they just report the lower end as the percentile).

![]() I would want to know more about how you prepared for it? I have given the GMAT twice and scored a dismal 640 and 650. So wana get the >730 mark. I have gone through the regular books as you have described but still falter. Any feedback would be appreciable at this juncture...! In all this I almost forgot.. CONGRATULATIONS. Great job.. |

thanks a lot!
Except for all the advices, which are given by other people here, I would mention one which is usually not mentioned. I've bough Kaplan QuizBank (1000 questions of different difficulty) with online access, very useful interface and answer explanations! During last 3 weeks of prep I was doing all these questions section by section. Not cheap ($200), but on my view this was very value-adding! Also, don't pay much attention to practice tests other than official practice! Real exam is very similar to OG questions, while, for example, Manhattan's CAT have questions MUCH harder than on real exam |
