University of Phoenix - MBA
Hello friends,
Hope this finds you very well. I wanted to get your feedback regarding an endeavor that I was thinking about pursuing. The University of Phoenix provides an MBA program without any prior GMAT experience whatsoever. I am not from the US, but wanted to know how does that university fit in with others that have the GMAT as a core requirement in their evaluations for admissions? Currently, I am at a 500 GMAT score. Moreover, now I am in the middle of my GMAT preparations to be able to take he exam again and score higher. And here is U of Pheonix that does not require the GMAT exam, and wants me to start as soon a mid November As such, I want your honest judgement as professionals in your field, what are the pros and cons from joining such a university that does NOT require the GMAT? Is it any less professional? Is it recognized outside of the US? Is there a difference in the authenticity of an MBA program that requires a GMAT score and another that does not. I look foward to your input and feedback. Thank you very much. |

I think it depends on what your looking for. If you want an MBA just to be able to have the title, and possibly move up in your current job, than Phoenix would be fine. If you want an MBA to pursue another career, or to get into a different field, Phoenix would not be a good match. In terms of a return on your investment, I would really recommend you do better on the gmat, and apply to a school that's at least ranked.
