GMAT taken...pathetic!!..550..(Q 42 V 23 AWA 5)
Guys,
I have taken the GMAT on 23rd Oct '09.. The test experience wasnt actually much scary..in the way that while answering the questions, both in quant and verbal,i was pretty confident about my performance and had actually expected a 650 around score.. but eventually ended in these dismal numerals... I dont know what went wrong in Quant..expected a 47+..was also noting down the number of questions skipped/attempted in doubt..didnt guess any.. solved almost all..yet.. ...in vain..In Verbal, reading comprehension has been my strength usually..but on the G-day..there were 3 superlong passages which stole the show from my hands.. ..critical reasoning was ok..SC was also ok..yet again..a 23!!I am planning to sit again and re-take..!! Need valuable inputs from guys who've already tasted success! por favor, El Seņor help me.. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That's ok....prepare again and you'll do better! Read through the forum and you will find lots of valuable advices. Do more mock exams - practice more. If you can do 15 mock exams, then the last 5 should be quite accurate in predicting your real exam score. + or - 50.

hi dar2gmat,
my 2 cents. work in this fashion if you are targeting 650-700 1. Take OG evaluation test (at the beginning of the book) 2. Write down your strength and weakness 3.Work on your weakness first 4. Get concepts (For maths you can rely on Manhattan GMAT books) 5.Start solving OG alway with a stopwatch. 6. Solve OG like evryday doing 10 questions from each section (i.e 10 PS, 10 DS,10 SC etc) 7. After end of first three weeks (and hopefully almost end of your OG) take GMATprep 1. 8. Analyze deeply your score and pattern of mistakes. 9. Start with Kaplan 800 10. Solve and take GMAtprep2 11. Chart your progress and make notes 12. Revise OG (if possible along with verbal and quant suppl.) 13. Take GMATprep couple of times more(Alwys analyze deeply) 14. Take your exam. HTH

Hey Dart.
Don't give up. I scored 550 last year with 6AWA. I've been working my tail off and am now scoring upper 600s. Lots of hard work and believing in yourself. If you want this bad enough you will do it. Your social life can wait I take mine in two weeks. I'm very confident. Best wishes and luck for your studying!!! |

hi guys,
i am not very active when it comes to joining and wrting in forums, however my dismal performance in gmat today made me join the community.i took the test today , was my first attempt , have been working hard for this for quite sometime (almost 6 months not regular though due to work demands) I scored a 540 (Q42 V28) which was actually a shock for me when i saw the scores.the lowest ever in all my mock tests.Done know what to do now, please advice on things that i can do to make it work, am looking out for a target score of 700+.i am average in both the sections , i think a lil better in verbal(not reflecting in the scores though). My quant sucks, esp the DS section, pliz pliz pliz help me in getting a better score, i want to reappear after a month or a half. also one more blunder i did was i opted to send my scores to the selected b schools. how will that affect my chances in case if manage to get a better score next time? please guide me. ![]() |
