02 Nov - my second attempt 710 (49;38)
Hi All!
Finally I got the score I wanted. It was my second attempt today and I scored 710 (49;38) on my test. It's not super high but still is a decent score and I'm happy that I can relax after such a hard marathon. My first attempt was in July and I scored 620 (42;34) then. Here are some prep test scores taken within 2 weeks before second attempt: Manhattan GMAT 1- 660 Manhattan GMAT 2- 710 Manhattan GMAT 3 - 680 GMAT Prep (retake)- 730 Here are the books I read after my first attempt. These books were really helpful: Manhattan Math Series (5 books) Manhattan Sentence Correction Power Prep Critical Reasoning Bible. Kaplan GMAT Advanced As you can see nothing new there...these books have been recommended by many successful test takers. Apart from that I read Times and Newsweek during last 6 months. I started reading almost daily when I began my preparation for TOEFL. So let me start choosing right schools to apply. Good luck on your test!! Thanks to this forum that helped me to maintain high motivation during 4 months of my preparation!! |

Well, I don't like writing too much but I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
The only thing I want to add- Do not trust your feelings on the exam. All the way through, and especially in math section, I was feeling that I'm not doing very well. Anyway, I just tried to concentrate and fought for every single math question and I was really surprised to see 710 in the end. Please fight for every question and do not get frustrated if you feel doing not so well...sometimes that only means that you are getting the toughest questions as I understood it was in my case. |

I did what other guys recommended on this forum. I just found my weak areas and worked to strengthen them. After my first attempt I decided that my math skills need to be significantly improved and I bought Manhattan Series following recommendations of more experienced test takers on this forum. I also tried to improve verbal and I did actually but still I believe I could have done even better in verbal. As about quant section I got 49 and that was maximum that I could have expected from myself. I've never been very good in maths but I managed to improve it significantly with the help of Manhattan series. |
