730 GMAT! clueless where to apply

    Hi dear TestMagicians,
I gave my gmat a few days ago and scored a 730.
I have a 2 yrs workex with a well known software consultancy from india (ranks in top 20 worldwide)
I don't think with that kinda workex (few yrs) i have a shot at the top10 b-skools (or do i?)

i would preferably be looking at a techno-mba from some gud ranking b-skool. Can anyone provide me some clues on where i can land up an aid and a reasonably gud univ for an indian student?
that would be of great help
    GT

Well, you can check the various ranking and stats to find out where you have a chance. With a 730 GMAT, you've definitely got your foot in the door for all b-schools. But remember the GMAT is only one part of your application; the quality of all the rest will determine where you get in.

    Hi will,
Thats the worst part that you are working full time. But that should not be a hindrance to cross the 700 mark. I was in fact working overtime let alone full time.
A 30 mins to 45 mins. dedicated study each day should be good enough to score 700+ if you already have reasonable quantitative skills. Develop an attitude that you are not going to let go even a single Question. Rather be obsessive about it. I was scoring much more than this in the powerprep tests and others, but somehow screwed up the real test.
Powerprep tests are the closest measure of your real GMAT score. Although, you will probably score a bit more than you actually deserve if you have already gone through the OG. But believe me, you will get the same questions wrong (at least in verbal) again!
Am not much familiar with kaplan as well as princeton as I never touched these in the last days of my preparation. I started with a 670 on kaplan 2 months before the test.
As for giving a verdict, there is no match to the official guide (OG). Thats the best you can do to get familiar with what you will get in the real test. I read somewhere that for improving critical reasoning, get some LSAT material. Am not sure on this. Erin would be the best person to comment. At least verbal is the section where most indian students (like me [^]) loose vital points.
    regards
    d..
