Folks,
Finished the GMAT yesterday. I am a bit disappointed with the verbal score. Some of my practice scores are: Kaplan: 590,620,640 PR: 670,720 PP: 720,730 In the Quant section I was getting one tough question after an other and that probably drained me out. The RCs were 90+ lines long. I never found that long passages in my practice tests. Towards the end I was severely short of time. During my practice tests I always used to skip the essays and start with the Quant section. That probably skewed my practice scores. Now, may I request some honest opinion from you folks? Here are my credentials: Undergrad GPA: 3.7 (Indian Institute of Technology) Grad GPA: 3.9 (Vanderbilt) 6-years Work-ex in a Fortune 500 company in the US what are my chances of getting into the following schools? 1) UC berkely 2) Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad 3) Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore thank you VJ |

Dear VJ,
Yeah, a 700 is a strong score, yet you sound like one of those people with the potential for the mid to upper range. On the other hand, I would say your shot or these schools is more likely based on how quantitative you want to be in your MBA program. If you plan to concentrate in Finance, Accounting, or something mathematical, good. Others, not as good. Congratulations on the 700. Good job. |
