Congrats Piyush.
I just read that you got a 6.0 in AWA. That's another feather to an already studded cap. I saw your template and it looks pretty good. I have carved out a template based on many templates floating around. You had mentioned that you have written about 9 paras for both Analysis & Argument. Does that mean that you have written 7 body para plus 1 opening and 1 closing para ? How do you write your paras ? Will the following structure work for 5+ score ? I kinda find it odd to use the terms... firstly... secondly... seventhly etc. The argument.... (opening para) Firstly... Secondly... Thirdly... ... ... Seventhly... The argument.... (closing para) Appreciate your help.

As far as things are concerned about the middle paragraphs ,I didnt got by firstly , secondly, etc. I approached them like a genereal para .. for eg.. para 1: The first assumption on which the argument is based ... para 2: Looking deeper into the argument, we also find that ... para 3: Though the argument suggest ..... using the figures ..., it doesnot really reflect upon the ... para 4: The assumption that ..... also suffers from a fallacy in that it does not consider... para5: Though looking from the author point, .... indeed managed to shed a light on the current trends of ..... , however, the same can not be said about the future, especially in these competitive scenarios where change in consumer taste is difficult to predict.. .. and so on.. Enjoy AWA during test. You will love it !

Thank you very much Piyush. I think you deserve the best. I wish you all the success in life. I screwed up first time. I am motivated this time. Let us see if I can sail through the troubled water of GMAT. I got everythinh else but GMAT score.
Best Regards, |

Piyush, i hope i am not repeating this. Should i go through all the AWA topics to familiarize myself or should i try writing some practice essays on few of those topics.
Can any of the topics in the whole list have a common/general skeleton?

In case you think you are out of ideas you can glance over the topics once for its not possible to rote down all of them. I have uploaded the documents giving all the issues and argument along with their "essays" somewhere inthis thread. You just might want to look at them once. All the best

Thanks for such a prompt reply.
One more silly question but may be relevant. say one is doing good on the verbal section i.e. to say, one has not encountered any SC question in the first 1-10 questions. Will the first SC question that appears after the first 10 come from the harder bin (considering i am already in the harder bin as i have done my first 10 correct, a mixture of critical reasoning and reading comprehension)? so if you are in a hard bin for reading comprehension, then you would most certainly be in the hard bin for the other two?
