Your suggestion about spending @4 minutes reading the RC is very interesting.

I finish reading the RC in about 2 minutes, but my hit ratio has not improved.

That worked for me at least, so you should try it. If you do not see any improvement, you can continue spending 2 minutes.

But my strategy was - reading the text very slowly, explaining myself the meaning of every paragraph and connections between paragraphs.

My point is that time you loose on thorough reading of the text is compensated, because while answering questions, you almost do not need to refer to text, you should remember almost everything.

POssibly, this will be a good strategy for international students, because I think native students will not be able to spend 4 minutes on reading even if they want to memorize the text

Sure, this will require that you use stiff strategy while answering SC and CR questions.

Yes I fit the criteria for "international student".

the only thing that would freak me out is if any RC showed up towards the end of the section. i lose my focus completely.

Please feel free to ask any specific questions you have, because it is hard for me just to describe the process, though I tried to do so in one of my posts.

I hope to range grammar rules in the order of importance - read in the expected # of times to face across OG and real Gmat - based on my experience.

That list will be arguable, but at least I hope it will add something new to standard grammar guides.
