Thumbs down 660 (q50, v30) need your advice

I took my GMAT few days back and got 660. I am disappointed as i was targeting for 700. Folks i need your advice whether i should retake the exam. I did couple of mistake on the exam day:

    1. I slept only for 5 hours the previous night. I went to bed early but could not sleep . After completing quant's i was feeling drowsy and could not give my 100%.

    2. I took around 3 minutes extra in the break between quants and verbal. I generally fall short of time in verbal because of my slow reading and comprehension speed. I had to guess through the last 2 RC's in verbal.

    3. By the end of the verbal section i was totally exhausted and just wanted the exam to somehow end. I have given many full length exams but never felt like this before.

My GMAT prep scores were 690 & 670. After reinstalling I got 760 but many questions were repeated.

My verbal score has always been on the lower side but i feel that I did not give my 100% in the exam. Should I go for a retake??

Please let me know after how many days I can retake the exam.

hey, you already seem to know what went wrong. And reading your post I can sense that you are ready to beat the bettle. Some member on the group has it "its not over until you win!"

But put this in the perspective, if the score you have lets you get into the school you want to go - fine, don't bother.

But if not, don't give up, Just go for it!

Give it another try, it sounds like you had a bad day. Although in reading prior posts a lot of people score less than there GmatPrep scores. What's key in what you wrote is that you said you took an extra 3 minutes. That won't happen again and should improve your score.

Your decision to retake depends upon your background and schools that you are targetting.
Hang on test magic for some more time and try again.
Keep your cool. If you think you can raise your verbal score by 5 points more, you may reach 690 or 700+

IT professional from India is the MOST COMPETITIVE ARENA. your current score can only be helpful if it is backed up by extremely strong other factors.
if you look around, many people with IT background (it seems there is no other background amongst the applicants in india) from india are getting scores in the range of 730+ .
