Hi Dileepsh, thanks a lot for the birthday wishes... very warm from you.
And Piero, I know I am colombian and female, but still I need really good grades for the universities that I want to go to....

Was this consistent with your GMATprep scores? I'm curious because if that's not the case then you probably will do better once you stop freaking yourself out, but if it is then a different study plan may be in order before you retake it again. Personally, I'm having a problem with consistency, but I'm working on it.
I was a little baffled by piero's post, but you don't necessarily need a 700 for top schools, but they seem to almost require 650+ unless you're really unique (in a business sense, not a columbian woman sense!). Good luck!

Hi guys... Erin, I agree with you, this is a study site...
Dyoh, nope, I did better on my practice tests, so yes, I think that everybody's theory on how nerves killed me is right. I left a couple of days to rest and now I am back on the study road. At the present moment I am working on a different study plan.... I am making my own notes to all the math subjects that I need to work on (since math is my weakest link), instead of just reading those concepts, that way I am making a good research on all those subjects and I am also getting a deeper knowledge of all those subjects, because I am becoming an active student instead of the passive student that I was for the test (which is against my regular study method, which I am following right now) In your case, I think that by studying everyday or almost everyday for just a little while will help you a lot, I am also working with consistency because that was part of my failure. On the other hand, I totally agree with you about Piero's comment, I didn't want to start controversy, but I think that his comment was a little racist in some kind of way. The fact is that I want to be admitted in a good business school, because of who I am, not just for where I was born, or my genre... demographics is a reality, that we all have to deal in a different way, to some people it can be a little help, to others it isn't, but what is true about demographics is that real talent and smart people will can't hide under that curtain because they will be somehow discovered one way or another.

I am sorry to hear about your score!!!.Actually your posts were sooo great at this site;I joined the site recently...and have not really done much prep;BUT I am still wondering with the kind'a knowledge you have and the score you get in practice tests how can someone get a 450 ?;.........If time management was the issue then it is easy to deal with it right !!!;
But I thought even if someone screws up they will make a 550+....and why did u not cancel the scores ? |

Hi ,
sorry to hear about your score but dont give up..life is all about fighting and to push yourself always ...you can find some resources in esnsips..com search gmat....dont worry but do things right ...break it down.(sections of gmat) and see what and how you are improving..stick to your targets and work from strenght to strenght ...freeking out in the exam is always normal ..be casual in the exam..just keep practicing ..i am sure you can make it 700+..........it is no rocket science ...........you will make it..All the best..and dont think about the score you got........ |

Catalina, I am from Peru and i am black. Racism comment? where at?
I think you misundertood what i meant. I am a goal oriented guy, I did bad to assume you are as me. My goal is to get accepted..how much do i need? i think 680 so that it cant be an issue for a top10....how much do you need? I think a little bit less than that......... What I meant is that you cant get stressed with getting 720 o 740 and I believe that GMAT doesnt show how talented somebody is. |
