730 .. Thanks everyone
Hi all,
Finished my GMAt today with a 730 : Q49, V41 . Wanted to thank everyone on this forum who has helped me directly or indirectly achieve the mammoth task. I have been following this forum for the past 3 weeks, regularly.I wish I had started following it atleast 2 months ago... it would have greatly improved my chances of getting a better score.. I prepared for a month and to others who aim at 750+, i would recommend atleast 2 months of good preparation. Feel free to get back to me for any queries. More posts will follow soon.. time to catch that much needed sleep ![]() Tweets |

Thanks everyone..especially skarya, G Unit, GREMAT,suithink, GMAT-HELP and animesh...you guys have been a big help
![]() I dont have a lot of work exp .. just 1.2 years so I wonder how far can this score take me..but am anyway happy ![]() I have a presentation to prepare for tomorrow morning (and its 12 am) but I just cant hold back and wanna share so much with you all.. ![]() My journey began 3 months ago when I decided I had to take my GMAT before delaying it any further. I initially decided to take it on 11th September (9/11 yes !!! ) but i knew pretty soon that office was not letting me find time for myself. I used to work 14 hrs a day and could hardly find time for my preparation. I decided to postpone it to 26th October. Things didnt change.. All i had done till 29th September was taken one GMATPrep ( I scored 720 in the first one) and a few section tests. Then came the news that I would have to go to Germany for 3 weeks. My hopes of applying to the first round were shattered as I knew I would have to postpone my GMAT ONCE AGAIN ! I had almost lost hope..the d-day was fixed to be 13th November finally. And I told myself, its now or never. My preparation till 20th October was 10%.I tried studying at the airport, the flights and even in trains. I came back from germany and rigorously started following testmagic. I realised that I had majorly underestimated the Quant and that I really needed to put in atleast 4-5 hours every day come what may. In any of the tests I took ( kaplan 600,610,610,580) PR (720,710) , my verbal was ALWAYS bad.. I had almost given up hope on my Verbal skills. If I would do RCs well, Scs and CRs would go for a toss and vice versa. I dont think I EVER made 41 in Verbal in ANY of my tests. Looking at Testmagic and getting prompt answers to questions I used to get stuck on helped me a HELL lot. My quant scores improved drastically and I realised I could make 50 easily if I would avoid silly mistakes. At the same time, I did as many SCs and CRs as possible to get a good hold of the basic rules in SC. Clintonn's posts really helped me a lot ( especially all the GMATprep questions). last week I took the second GMATprep and made 710 (lower than what i scored in the first! ) I decided to exhaust as many GMATprep questions as possible. My Quant score was constant at 50 but Verbal used to fluctuate a lot. Kaplan was quite disheartening but I knew its not a correct measure of anyone's exact score so I was cool. More posts shall follow on my experiences today and in the last two days. I would recommend people to exhaust all GMATprep questions(especially the Quant). Verbal in Kaplan and all other tests makes RCs look like monsters!! Trust me RCs were a cakewalk today.. so dont let lengthy RCs scare the **** out of you ![]() There is so much more I want to share.. and i very soon will. Got to get back to my presentation now... keep going...keep trying ![]() Tweets |

Regarding the Quants, do you really feel that mastering all type of questions in GMATPrep was a determining factor for doing so well in thy exam? Were they all similar (no suprises?) Congratulations once again ![]()

Yes mastering GMATprep should really help.. there is a pattern in the type of questions which come in real GMAt.. especially the word problems and Inequality problems in DS...PS is normally easy.. though i had a touch rate problem today.. no hard probability questions.. but some real good geometry..
stick to GMATprep..it really works ![]() |
