700 (q51, V33)
Took my test yesterday, got 700.
I prepared for almost 5 weeks, used Princeton Cracking the GMAT, Manhattan SC guide, OG, GMATPrep and TestMagic.com. I also did couple of tests from MathSets available on internet, and believe it or not I got couple of questions on my real GMAT from the two MathSet tests I did, exactly same questions. I would like to thank all the participants of TestMagic forums, especially people who replied to my queries. TestMagic.com is a great website, thanks Erin!! In my opinion, OG is true representation of quality of questions on actual GMAT, both in Quant and in Verbal. GMATPrep is true simulation of actual GMAT test. Definitely use OG and GMATPrep in your preparation. My prep test scores Princeton 1 - 640 Princeton 2 - 620 GMATPrep 1 - 740 GMATPrep 2 - 640 Only difference in my two GMATPrep tests was that I got additional 4 verbal questions wrong within first 12 questions in 2nd test, really, this was the only difference. I was able to get most Verbal questions correct in OG, but when I did similar questions in GMATPrep, I got many wrong beacuse of time pressure. One thing that I learned from this is that it's very important to get first 15-20 questions correct. I decided to spend more time on beginning questions even if it meant doing only first 30 questions. This is what I did in actual GMAT, I spent 74 minutes on first 30 questions, and last 1 (one) minute clicking choice E on remaining 11 questions (yes, I only did first 30 questions in Verbal in my actual GMAT test). My strategy was to do best in Quant and get enough in Verbal to get 700, it worked. Ofcourse, create your own startegy whatever works best for you, but if your weakness if Verbal, try to spend more and more time on first 25 questions instead of attempting all questions and getting many wrong choices in first 10, this will effect your score majorly. If anybody has any questions, I will be happy to answer them. Best of luck! |

Hey Congrats on 700 !!!
Your strategy of guessing last 11 questions "E" seemed to have worked but this is extremely dangerous - IMO Keep praying to god because anything could have happened after guessing 11 Questions in a row, especially on computer adaptive tests.
