    My scores

    Hi guys,

I just took the test today (5/12/2007).

    My score: 720 (Q 49, V 40)

    My test scores:

    PR paper 1: 730
    PR paper 2: 720
    PR paper 3: 720
PR paper 4: 640 (something wierd about this one)

    Powerprep: 750, 730

I found the PR tests to be the most representative of the actual test, in terms of the actual difficulty of the questions and the score. Powerprep was much easier.

I studied the GMAT official guide, the Princeton review guide and the Princeton review verbal supplement.

I have been studying for about 2 months (more seriously, for about a month).

One other point. I got the very first quant question wrong. I realized it as soon as I pressed the button. However, if you can steadily work through the rest of the questions, you can still end up with a high score.

    Real GMAT 680
    2 days before, Powerprep 760.

    What the hell!!??

Some of the math questions seemed unfamiliar for some reason on the real test. I was too slow on the 1st half of quant and that's what brought my score down. I think i'll try again but am unsure of how to prepare for the next exam. Any suggestions?

Powerprep is an older version of GPREP.. and its totaly non representative of the current GMAT difficulty level...

What were your scores in GPrep..
If you havent used GPREP, then it is a horrendeous mistake and you should definitely try this test again...

One way to ensure that you will never run out of time is to follow the following strategy:

Finish the 1st 12 Q questions in the first 25 min., 2nd 12 Q questions in the next 25 min. and the final 13 Q questions in the final 25 min.

Finish the 1st 13 V questions in the first 25 min, the 2nd 14 V questions in the next 25 min. and the final 14 V questions in the final 25 min.

    Hope this helps.

I did use the updated Gprep from the mba.com website. The questions did seem a bit harder on the real GMAT though. I guess that means i was doing well but running out of time before finishing the last 5 questions really damaged my score. I'll try the test again but just found out you must wait 31 days before retesting.

    Thanks for the help!
