i will get this back on topic
![]() I took the GMAT on saturday. I took the Kaplan course, so here are my scores: Kaplan: Diag - 640 36Q 41V (4/23/09) Cat 1 - 610 41Q 29V (5/11) Cat 2 - 600 41Q 29V (5/21) Cat 3 - 700 51Q 36V (6/7) Cat 4 - 710 48Q 44V (6/20) Cat 5 - 660 39Q 46V (6/30) UPT - 590 (7/1) Cat 6 - 680 41Q 49V (7/6) GMATPrep1 - 680 (7/8) GMAT - 700 42Q 44V (7/11) So it looks like Kaplan helped me improve my verbal score, while my quantitative stayed farely consistent throughout. |

Congratulations on your great score
![]() You had 2 great Q scores (51 & 48) out of 9 practices. I'm a little surprised that the score could fluctuate that much. Your V score is awesome!! |

Hey all ,,, there is my scores:
6/8/2009 GMATprep1 690 Q 46-77% V38-83% (second try)..Was care free and didn't do the essay 6/21/2009 Mannhattangmat 650 43 -68% 36-81% 6/29/2009 Mangmat -Q46-79% none sleep deprived skipped Verbal 7/1/2009 Mangmat 640 Q 43-68% V35-74% Didn't answer last question - deduction of 3% on verbal 7/6/2009 GMATprep2 620 Q44-70% V31-58% Tired- Exhuasted and wasn't implimenting Verbal strategies at all. 7/12/2009 GMATprep2 730 49-88% 40-89% More focused on implimenting strategies learned and was confident, was a bit tired skipped AWA section N/a Kaplin n/a 31 na Skipped the verbal section Kaplin is ODD ! can't get this test... seems a little different than the others. For some reason i DO NOT feel comfident enough ... i saw the Quant problem is the new OG 12 at the end and they are BRUTEL ... much harder than any i have seen. Also ... i noticed if i dont do verbal problems daily ... i lose my luster and preformance on them ... so it seems u need ot refreash daily ! My questions are: 1.How do I increase my confidence? hmmmm 2. I get tired after the AWA + Quant section ... and Verbal demands strong focus... how do you guys manage your energy? focusiness? ![]() Tip: One thing that helped is writing things down instead of solving or thinking of them in your head, that way you have more room to analyze in your brain .. it works for Quant and verbal ... where reading comprehension and critical reasoning i summerize what i read with quick words or notes marking main idea or Premises vs conl. ... yet can't be used for SC. 3. Do you guys think am read to crack the 700 barrier? Thanks! |

I plan to give my GMAT on 22nd aug.
My Manhattan GMAT scores have been 1) 640 2) 630 3) 600 4) 670 5) 690 6) 720 (Q-50, V-38) I don't understand the logic of scoring. On my 6th test my Q score was 50. I got 8 wrong (5 in first 10, 3 in the rest 27) & 1 incomplete. Is this possible? I just want to know if Manhattan GMAT is reliable indicator. Some threads have judged Manhattan GMAT Q to be tougher that actual V to be at par w actual Thoughts ??? |

I think it's possible since you got only 3 wrong in the rest of 27. There must have been some really difficult questions in those 27. Manhattan GMAT gives analysis at the end of the exam. Did you see many 700 - 800 questions in the 27? What were the difficulty levels of those 5 wrong in first 10?

No not a lot of hard qs
700-800 ... 5 out of 10 wrong. Lot of 600-700 though, 3 out of 19 wrong ... may be this helped And the last q was 300-500 level Anyways, will take Powerprep and Gprep and see how it goes. Not sure if i should draw any conclusion based on the recent score. |

Hi all,
I've just signed up to share with you the practice vs. real scores I got. In the past month I've used the forum several times for both guidance in ambiguous questions and insights from this thread. Thus, I'd like to thank everyone here taking the time to write a post and reducing the anxiety levels. Practice tests: Gmat Prep 1: (before any real learning) 610 (Q42, V32) Gmat Prep 1: (revisited two days before test day) - 770 Gmat Prep 2: ??? (Q46, V42) McGraw-Hill's 1: 740 (Q50, V58) - too easy, decided not to do any of these again Peterson's Master The GMAT Test 2 (24/06/2009): 700 (Q50, V40) - also too easy, decided not to do any of these again Kaplan (painfully difficult - do these!) Test 1 (30/06/2009): 700 (Q50, V37) Test 2 (09/07/2009): 640 (Q50, V34) Test 3 (23/07/2009): 650 (Q50, V36) Test 4 (30/07/2009): 670 (Q42, V38) - can't account for the low quantitative score, probably no more tough questions in the pool The Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT Test 1 (17/07/2009): 710 (Q45, V43) - bad answers and faulty program, decided not to do any of these again Real Test (03/08/2009): 770 (Q50, V45) (Crazy note - I had a very bad day and was suffering from a bad case of food poisoning - so don't discourage no matter what people!) I used "GMAT Score Estimator" (Google it, I can't post URLs...) in order to compare to real expected performance and it was usually on the mark. Another small tip - the test questions were very very similar to those in the "Official Guide" trilogy (I bought the 12th edition) so make sure you go over the latter as much as you need in order to understand every Q&A. Good luck everyone, OneTimer. |
