I took the GMAT 4 years ago, without studying at all and received a poor score (470). After using the Princeton Review and Kaplan book guides, I got a second score of 550.

Now I am considering a return to school to get a PhD and know that I will need a much better score, probably 650-700 to get into the schools that I am looking at. From the posts on this forum, it appears that the quantitative section of the test offers the biggest return on investment (of study hours) if I could manage to master the principles of permutations, statistics and combinations. Considering my goals, do you think that Veritas Project GMAT would help, if I learn the book's teachings in addition to an online prep course?

what are the GMAT sets being referred to here?

I did both sets in the powerperp and gmatprep softwares but they were basically questions copied from the OG. Are there other sets that I should look up?

Hi and congratulation to the original poster. My question is ony one...what is sets? is it a kind of resource available on this site or something that can be purchased?
I only have a few weeks to prepare (and I'm italian so verbal will be an issue for me)...thanks!

Hi This is my first post is any forum so please excuse me if im off track...

i am planning to give my GMAT in Aug 1st week... Im really stuck with quant... yesterday i tried to give one of the prep test and got stuck with the very first question...

I am passionate about getting in to good B school but for that i need a good score...

I am really losing hope seing my performance in quant

Someone please help me... how to i improve my understand of maths
