Hi everyone,
I just finished the GMAT and I decided to look around to see how it would stack up. Unfortunately, it seems that a 600 is really low on this forum. I was a History major with a 3.3 GPA from an Ivy League university, and I have had about 1.5 years work experience. I know that I don't have a lot of work experience, but I was wondering if I applied within the next 6 months with a score of 600, would I be admissable? |

Hey..
Firstly congradt's on putting up with all the preparation for the GMAT, And as you mentioned I also believe 600 is low on this forum but don't letme put you of, You wanted to know whether you would be admissable I think there possibly could be a slight chance however it may be a good idea to think about retaking the GMAT, it also depends on other aspects of your application e.g which uni's you planning to apply to etc...... As I have said to many other people just applyand seehow you go because you can never know the end resylt if your application turns out denied they will state the reasons being.. Give it a go follow your heart and you will succeed... Best Wishes & Good Luck, Tim P.S any advice on the GMAT test Prep etc... kindly appriecated |

Hi!
I just wanted to respond to your question whether or not you would be admitted into an MBA program with a 600. I had a 600 with only about 1 1/2 years of experience too. I am happy to say that I was admitted just recently into a program. It was my first choice. Although a 600 may be low for this board it is better than 70% of the people that take the GMAT. Don't forget that. If you think you can do better and you really want to take it again then go for it. But, I don't think that a 600 is too shabby...So, to answer your question, yes you can get into a good MBA program with a 600. Good luck in whatever decision you decide to make. |

thanks thaiva and petals007 for replying to my post. I decided since I took the GMAT on saturday, I needed to have some fun on sunday. I just got back from a 5 hour hike and it was amazing. I definitely recommend some down time BEFORE and AFTER test
![]() in terms of advice, I would recommend taking a prep class or getting some books. I took the Kaplan class but didn't take the test right after the class as they had recommended. I actually took the test 7 months later so I had to re-study stuff. i can't underscore the value of practice. I actually signed up for an online GMAT essay grader. the official GMAT website offers it. I took some tests, had it scored right away and got some feedback. I read all over the place that there were 250 essay topics listed that were used on the acutal GMAT. well, I practiced on about 6 of them. on the GMAT, my first essay prompt was actually an essay that I had already seen and practiced! it was a peice of cake and a huge boost at the very beginning of the test. i don't know if i'm going to re-take the test. so far, i'm just relieved that it's over. i'll be researching my options in the next few weeks. thanks again. |
