pretty disappointed with myself... The verbal portion was about where I expected it to be, but I never believed that I would get a quant score that was that low. 44 maybe?? but 42 really doesn't cut it. How much will such a low quant score hurt my chances? (I know it depends on a lot of other stuff... I'm not really focusing on top 10 more 10-25 range) I don't know if I have the energy to take this test again, but I've heard about the "anything below 80% and we're concerned" attitude of some admissions committees. A retake is the only way to solve this I suppose. |

I think a 680 with a 42Q is a good score for most non-engineer types. That should be good enough for programs outside the top 10. I think you should just focus on making your apps perfect and go with that score.

one additional question. If I send the 680 to the schools that I plan to apply to, then retake the exam and do not specificy any schools to send the score to, would anyone see the second result? Or do I have to specify that I would want it sent to various schools? |

Hi Duncan...I got the same score as you today...with crappy quant...but hey I'm in Marketing/Technology...what the hell do I know about math??? I'm great with a computer and a calc
I could do everything that came up...just ran out of time and had to guess on the last 7. Regarding your question: I've heard that the score reports have your last 3 scores no matter where where you have sent them before. If you apply and then take the GMAT a few weeks later I doubt they would see the score as long as it has been a few weeks. |
