I took it this morning. Was hoping for above a 650 and bombed it with a 550. I cried all the way home.
I prepped for two months with Princeton Review and I am PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need advice I have a stellar ap to SHW if I can get my score up. Can I bring my score up 150 points in a few months or am I pretty much screwed here?I may have to prep for another year then apply in 2010. I seriously hate my life ![]() |

Tough luck friend. Sometimes these things do happen. Relax, take a week break, and then with a cool head think what exactly you'd want to do.
Once you know your weak areas, get back to the basics ... Quality of resources during prep is more important than quantity ... I am not very sure if Princeton Review is the book to bank on. Solve OG11 and try to understand each & every question. In addition to that: *for Quant - search/browse TM *for SC - read the Manhanttan SC guide *for CR & RC trust your instincts This should help you assure a 650 and that too in not more than 2 months of focused prep. But for 50 more points you need to put in some more. I guess, there is no one generic way to get to 700. Many have done that in many different ways. I guess, you'll certainly be able to figure your way out from then only. In anycase, TM is always there for you. Good Luck Krovvidy |

Hey better luck next time!
At least you now have an idea what the Gmat is all about and you'll be more confident next time. I've also heard that the Princeton Review is too easy compared to the actual Gmat exam. And ppl take Gmat a couple of times before they get their desired result, so cheer up. |

First of all Be Strong !!! Remember you are aspiring to be future manager ! And ups and downs are a part and parcel of life !!
"Life is under no obligation to give us what we expect" .We have to really work hard to achieve our goals and in that lies all the fun !! What is your sectionwise break up ? Which is your stronger area ? The following approach helped me a lot in improving my scores : English : Go throughly through the whole OG . Make a list of all the questions you got confused or got wrong .Review the list at the end of the week and make sure you don't commit the same mistake again . Maths : Followed the same approach. Went through some basic concepts again .But what helped me the most is the TM forum.Just come and solve/post all the problems that you have on this forum .There are a lot of people, pretty good in Maths like Kroviddy,Makumajon etc to help you out .Make a list of all the problems that you cannot solve or found conceptual .I generally copy the link in a notepad. Then review /revise everything at the end of the week . Needless to say ,follow all the posts of 800bob.He is the best teacher you can get . Believe me in 2 months you will find a noticeable change !! If you have a stellar application ,that in itself proves that you have all the potential to get a good score ! |

Like everyone pointed out PR is not very good to compeltely depend upon. Use Kaplan and OG..I was too confused becasuse PR start out very good. Its bins also offer tough questions but that is as far it goes. Read the debrief of KilledGMAT. He mentioned some very good points for preparing for a decent 700 score.
Best of luck. I am in the process of doing the GMAT somewhere in August. So far very nervous and reluctant to get a firm date. Maybe this forum will help me get some confidence. |
