1280: 720 Q 560 V
Hey everyone!
Well, this is my second take at the GRE's (which I must say are not my thing at all) and I'm definitely happier with my quantitative score than I was before. I took the GRE's in August and got a 610 Q and 580 V. The quantitative that time was a disaster ( I got nervous, took too much time, zoned out, etc). I also had two quantitative sections that time, so I wasn't sure which one was the real one, which added to my stress level during the test. This time around I practiced more computer tests and did a lot better. This time I had two verbal sections - the first one I found VERY easy (apparently that was the experimental one lol), but this gave me confidence going into the quant section. After this I thought I was done - but no, there was another verbal section! I was tired so I sort of breezed through, and I even had one of those paragraph questions in the end where you have three blanks and have to select a word that fits into each at the end. Although most of my practice tests were above 750, I think this score is sufficient enough. =) I'll be applying to Biomedical Engineering schools (a smathering of top schools and mid range schools), and hopefully with my 3.9 GPA and good recommendations my "OK" score (for top engineering schools at least) will be overshadowed by my otherwise good application. If anyone has any input on that I'd GREATLY appreciate it! (I don't want to think that I have a chance if I should really retake the GRE's a third time and get a higher score, since average Quantitative GRE scores for top schools are about 30 or 40 points higher than mine). The 610 that I got before was very much a fluke, and I found that going into the test with confidence and taking small breaks to relax if you find yourself bogged down or tense during the test really helps! |

Hey...
the Quantitative section had a lot of the typical QC questions, remainder problem, pie chart for data questions, one that tested how well you can factor out numbers with powers and cancel certain terms, a triangle angles problem, a series problem, a ratios type problem, a data interpretation that included mean/median/mode and standard deviation questions. Others I really can't remember. |

Yes I definitely had two shorter RC's and a longer RC, though for some reason I feel that besides the longer 4 question RC another one of the RCs had more questions than 2. (I did have two verbal sections though, so it could have been in the experimental one)
