Yeah, me too. I'm retaking in September. My Previous score was math; 740, Verbal; 650. I was also dropped at the programme I applied to (Texas A&M, Petroleum Engineering, MEng) because of the high competition. My score would have been higher but for the outdated material I used to study. I cannot even remember their names. Thanks to this website, I can now look for the good material you guys are recommending. It won't be easy finding them in my locality, though and I don't know how feasible ordering them at www.amazoan.com will be.

Hi everyone! I must confess, I have not been doing a lot of reading lately:-( Good luck to everyone retaking the exam! For those who have already retaken it, could you please tell us if your score improved? The reason I ask is because I'm beginning to wonder if my scores would improve dramatically. Although I do remember that on the day I took the test, the exam room was extra hot and I was uncomfortable and could not wait to get out of there, which I think may have affected my final score to some extent.

Hi eagle uk, will you be reapplying to the same progam at Texas A&M with your new (and better:-)) GRE score? Does reapplying to the same program usually increase or diminish chances of getting in?

Well, I don't know if reapplying to the same program reduces one's chances of getting in. However, I am not reapplying to Texas A&M this time since it's clearly stated on their website that Spring admissions are reserved for few outstanding candidates (can't wait for Fall 2010). Going by their standards, I cannot be that outstanding since I was dropped for Fall when majority of the admissions take place.
