Hi eagle uk, I also can't wait for Fall 2010 since I didn't make it for the Fall '09 program. I've decided to apply for an MSc though, since it seems getting into a PhD direct is very, very competitive.. And don't worry about it, Im sure there's an engineering program which is just right for you that awaits you in fall '10.

Many thanks. You meant Spring '10 right?

Hi Luma. I tried to log on to the GRE diagnostic site as instructed but could not. Wonder what the problem could be.

Maybe you mis-typed some of the fields. The link works, this morning my colleague at work accessed his info.

i just took it the other day and received 560 verbal and 590 quants. I got enough for a master's in BME but i know i need to retake in order for phd. Any pointers on which material to use? I actually had taken the gre previously and i improved my verbal from 380. All i did was just study the barron's word list as well as kaplan vocabulary. I did not review Nova's list, but it looks to be very similiar to Barrons. Anyways, I believe i just need some advice on how to master the quants section because i have to admit it was difficult. It felt a lot more difficult than verbal.

I used the 7 digit registration number that is on the score report, the month and year of the test date and my date of birth just as instructed but it wasn't working! Let me give it another shot then I can share the info.

Hi grekiller! For the quantitative section, it's easier if you master mathematical principles and rules eg pythagoras theorem which you can apply to the questions asked. The GRE Math review provided at the ETS website http://ets.org/Media/Tests/GRE/pdf/GREmathPractice.pdf has some useful info, however I find it does not have some formulas/ tricks that are needed to answer the quantitative sections. I'll try and find a site that has more comprehensive quantitative review tips and post it here. Meanwhile, I can share any math review tips that I have already collected by posting them here.

When do you plan on retaking the GRE? Btw what's BME?

You also need to put in the small hyphen between the 4th and 5th digit, in case you weren't doing that.

Turns out the reason I can't log in is that six months have passed since I received the score report.
